The effect of Roundup on the pasture weeds is unknown.
Some may be controlled while other may be released.

Views of AlfaGraze 300RR planted in September 2006.  Roundup was sprayed to suppress grass competition just before planting alfalfa or just after the alfalfa seedlings began to grow. By November the alfalfa was well established and could be grazed for brief periods.  Large horsenettle plants were burned back by the Roundup but may not be dead.  Cool-season grass (primarily Bromus spp.) were released by spraying Roundup to suppress the perennial grass growth.  Generally the annual cool-season grasses are not as competitive with alfalfa seedlings as bermudagrass and tall fescue.
