| Germination: | From September to November. |
| Reproduction: | By seed in early summer. |
| Stems: | Round, slender, hollow, not jointed, dark green. |
| Leaves: | Very narrow, glass-like, mostly at base of plant. |
| Flowers/ Inflorescence: |
Flowers small, greenish brown, with 6 scale-like bracts. |
| Fruit: | Small, brown seed, about 1/8 inch long with cross wrinkles. |
FOUND: |
Throughout the state in low wet areas, very seldom a problem in alfalfa. |
CONTROL: |
No herbicide available for control. |
