| DESCRIPTION | |
| Germination: | Seeds germinate and bulbs sprout late summer to early winter. |
| Reproduction: | Vegetative by soft-shell and hard-shell bulbs, aerial bulblets and by seed, flowering in May-June. |
| Stems: | Smooth, waxy, leafy to middle. |
| Leaves: | Nearly round, hollow, attached to lower half of stem. |
| Flowers/ Inflorescence: |
Small greenish-white, borne on short stems above aerial bulblets |
| Fruit: | Black, flat-sided seed. |
FOUND: |
Throughout state, only occasionally in alfalfa. |
CONTROL: |
Main problem is garlicky flavored milk from eating leaves. No selective way to control in alfalfa, so need to control in rotational crops. |
