| DESCRIPTION | |
| Germination: | April to July. |
| Reproduction: | By seeds August to October. |
| Stems: | Rough, hairy, erect, branched, 1 to 4 feet tall. |
| Leaves: | Nearly smooth, deeply cut into a number of lobes. |
| Flowers/ Inflorescence: |
Male and female flowers separated. Male flowers on Catkin-like branches, female flowers in axils at upper leaves. |
| Fruit: | Woody achene (seed) resembling crown. |
FOUND: |
Common ragweed is found in old pastures, wasteland, roadsides, stubble fields, and cultivated land. It can be a weed problem in spring planted alfalfa since it would be competitive with seedling alfalfa. |
CONTROL: |
Ragweeds can be selectively removed from alfalfa seedlings with early post treatment of , BUTYRAC 200 and PURSUIT. |
